Madera Veterinary Center at Bark for Life Event
The second annual American Cancer Society Bark for Life Event was held at Lions Town and Country Park on August 27, 2011. Bark for Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Heidi Beckham and Corissa Upshaw spoke with many people throughout the event about ways to keep their pets healthy and reduce the risks of cancer. Dr. Polci’s daughter Marina posed with Kelsey at the booth along with Heidi and Corissa.
Dr. Polci received a wonderful surprise from her staff on her recent birthday. As many of you know, Dr. Polci has been an avid New York Yankee fan since she was a girl growing up in Connecticut. What better way to bring a smile than a chocolate cake fashioned as a Yankee cap… yes, it’s a cake! Perfect match with her surgery scrubs!
